Zynga Acquires Draw Something Creator OMGPOP for $180 Million!!!
Insane! This app just became popular within the last month…and now this? INSANE!!!!!!
Social network gaming company Zynga has bought the creators of the new Draw Something game, OMGPOP, for $180 Million. Zynga, known for Words With Friends and a bunch of other With Friends apps and Facebook games, recently had their dominant Words With Friends taken over by Draw Something as the #1 Facebook connected game.
Draw Something is currently the top free and paid app in both Apple’s App Store and Google Play. Before releasing the pictionary-like game, OMGPOP only had some 20 million users. But since its launch six weeks ago, Draw Something has amassed more than 30 million downloads. Dan Porter, CEO of OMGPOP, assures users that the acquisition will not change the game at all.
