Last month, A$AP Rocky held a LONG.LIVE.A$AP listening session at Black Star Music and Video in Harlem and here’s a video recap from the in-store. His debut LP arrives in stores and online a week from today.
A$AP Rocky talks New Orleans influences, growing up in Harlem and making himself immortal as he decodes “Long Live A$AP”, the debut track from his first commercially released album of the same name.
It is no secret Joey Bada$$ is inspired by ’90s golden era hip-hop. His debut mixtape 1999 (via Cinematic Music Group) showcased his love for the decade and the legends it spawned. When Green Label Sound heard about Joey’s admiration for the legendary DJ Premier, we couldn’t pass up getting these two together for a track.
The result out of DJ Premier’s HeadQCourterz Studio is “Unorthodox,” in title and execution. “Unorthodox” is a unique track that Joey dedicates to real hip-hop fans and his Pro Era collective. Get a sneak peek of the track in the video above. “Unorthodox” available for download January 14, 2013 from Green Label Sound.
